I purchased Helios in 2001 -- unfortunately, I didn't go to Mitch and my braces cracked and ..... well, I'm back in AFOs. We justified the cost of going to Vegas and buying the braces by thinking it'd be worth it for me to be able to walk and get around easier. Besides, I wanted to see Ziegfriend and Roy and we hadn't had a real vacation in a while, so we combined everything in one trip. I guess the timing has to be right, too. We had good jobs, so we could go into debt " just a little bit more " . lol! Now, we're in Canada -- harder and more expensive to get to Vegas..... Someday, maybe. Good luck in whatever you choose! I cannot spend the money at the moment, I cannot believe that insurance will cover the cost. Vacation and Helios sounds good to me to do both at the same time but maybe later on. I learned that Mitch was the only person the Helios was available from, so if you did not get it from Mitch, it is not the Helios brace...could be something that is similar. Guest guest Posted November 6, 2008 Report Share Posted November 6, 2008 , I'm not speaking for JoAnn, but she is a good friend of mine, I do know for a FACT that JoAnn was fitted for the Helios brace but please do not misunderstand, they were not made by Mitch they were made by Jon in the same office. Mitch is no longer working with Jon , therefore, it is the Helios not something similar. I'm sure you misunderstood but whom ever you learned this from is dead a-- wrong. According to Mitch Warner, the Helios is only available through him and his company. If Mitch did not fit your friend JoAnne, she did not get a Helios, according to what I learned. I learned this from Mitch Warner direct, as I posted this before. If this issue confuses you, and it is of great importance to you, you should probably contact Mitch Warner direct, as I did.
