Guest guest
I have been fighting with my insurance company since the end of Aug. They denied Adam's a new pair of AFOs. He has grown taller and put on weight making these AFOs just about useless. He falls all of the time in them. At home, School, Church. I call and call appeal after appeal, my doctor calls gets the run around, the orthotist calls, goose hunt. The appeals deadline was October 8th after the insurance company lost paperwork and had denied having any information on the first 3 appeals that they said we never did. Okay you get the picture. Adam took 3 bad falls this week. At one point I thought he was unconscious. So today at 9:30 am I called to ask the status of our appeal. It was still in review and had not been worked on as of yet. So I mentioned I was putting a call in to the State Department of Insurance and also calling the Legal Department of Blue Cross. I called both places and left messages. At 11:33 my doctors office called to say they had just talked to our insurance company and a decision would be made today. At 12:52 Blue Cross called me to say our appeal had been approved and the case would be closed. Had I not mentioned the State Dept of Ins or the legal department I have no doubt this would have dragged on for weeks longer.
Guest guest
, good job. It kills me how hard things are in this day and age to get what you deserve. It should not be that hard to get what you deserve. This is a really good example of things we need to go through as parents. Keep up the good work, and keep fighting the battles. Nice to see someone win one for a change. Matt
