Guest guest
Hey everyone, Are there any cmt patients out there who have lower back pain? My back starting hurting late August and has gotten progressively worse. I'm taking Tramadol adn Tylenol for the pain, and it's barely phasing it. I had an MRI yesterday. The radiologist says there is a little degeneration on L-3 and L-4 vertebrae, but not enough to be causing the kind of pain I'm describing in my lower back region. However it is enough to weaken my back. Other than that, he didn't see anything that should be causing this pain! I'm scheduled to see an orthopedist Wed. about my back. I'm anxious to know if he can tell me if this pain is neuropathy or not. Does anyone else have this back pain, and how do you manage it? I'm standing most of the day at work because I'm an art teacher. BTW, when I wake up in the morning, I can usually tell if it's going to hurt or not. It's like there is an underlying dull ache that will intensify as the day goes by. It's not a pins and needles kind of pain. Nor is it a stabbing pain. It is a dull, but excruciating ache..a little hard to describe. I started taking 9,000 mg of Vit C almost 3 weeks ago. Last week, I had 2 days where my back didn't hurt at all. But it has hurt everyday since then. My wife ordered me some Citicoline. I haven't gotten it yet. Will Citicoline help with neuropathic pain, as well as warming? Guest guest
- I do not have any back pain, and I don't believe that your back pain is neuropathic pain. Obviously, I am not a doctor, so I could be wrong. My neuropathic pain is from my knees down, especially in my feet and also my arms and hands. You could " up " your dosage of Tramadol to help with the pain, but remember what I emailed you about the issues associated with Tramadol. The goal, is to find the cause of the back pain and fix it instead of " masking " the problem with pain meds. Amy Hodge
