Guest guest
I was prescribed this but some things happened and I returned to Zoloft. Wellbutrin has been found to help some people quit smoking. I don't know how that is supposed to work - maybe has something with it being a stimulant. . Guest guest
Does anyone have a child on Wellbutrin and noticed their child has had frequent urination while on this drug? Rosemarie
Guest guest
-, I have been taking Wellbutrin for about a year and a half and I would have to say it probably helps. I can't say that it helps with the fatigue and I have been gaining weight so I must still crave carbs. Overall though I believe it helps and I have'nt had any side effects at all. Prior to the Wellbutrin I was taking Zoloft and had some side effects with it so went with the Wellbutrin. Hope this helps you. -- In , " lbschroeder " <lbschroeder@...> wrote: > > Saw my doctor today and discussed a request my family had made. This has greatly upset my husband and daughters. > > Anyhow, has anyone on this list been prescribed Wellbutrin and how did it work for them? My doctor almost did not let me finish my description of my problems, she was so used to hearing it. She said that PA sufferers have our brain chemistry altered from the constant pain, lack of good rest, etc. The symptoms I described were very common for PA sufferer's, and she felt that Wellbutrin would greatly help me. Wellbutrin evidently helps with the fatigue as well as the constant craving for carbs you get with the Enbrel. > > I feel confident this is a good choice, but would still appreciate any feedback from anyone on this list who has taken Wellbutrin. > I also just read on the last mailing list, someone wrote in about being depressed. Guest guest
I've been on wellbutrin now for several years. I was on wellbutrin and prozac for a while, but recently was weaned off the prozac. Prozac can (over time) cause a lack of motivation & focus. With what we have, goodness knows we don't need any help lacking motivation and focus. Some days I just couldn't think. As I was weaning off prozac I began to have more pain and less ability to deal with it. I talked to my Rheumy and she suggested I speak with my Psych doc about Cymbalta - it apparently helps with pain management as well as the associated depression. I like the wellbutrin - i'm doing OK on it alone for now. I'm at a point where I don't think my dosage is high enough, but before I went on it - I'd find myself sitting in the corner just crying. I'd yell at my ex-husband and while I was complaining or yelling I knew in my mind that what I was saying was unreasonable - even ridiculous - but I couldn't stop myself from saying what I was saying. I started prozac around 10 years ago - wellbutrin was added about 7 years ago (wow, has it been that long?). At that time we reduced the prozac. I credit those two drugs with getting me through my husband's illness & death, being diagnosed with PA, being diagnosed with diabetes, and a hospital screw up which put me in a coma for 3 weeks. I walked into the hospital for a hysterectomy, about 4 weeks later (three years ago next week) I was wheeled out because I couldn't walk...the MASSIVE doses of steroids exacerbated the hypoglycemia and turned it into full blown diabetes - they even had me on insulin while there. In my past, everytime I used a topical steroid for psoriasis it went away - but when it came back.....whoa bessie - it was much worse! I can only suspect what the IV steroids did for my PA. I sure do feel worse. Back to your original question - make sure you take it as prescribed. There is a generic version which you have to take twice a day - the name brand comes in a sustained release, but it's much more expensive - but you take in once a day. It's generally recommended that you take it in the morning because it may make it hard for you to sleep if you take it right before bed. WHATEVER YOU DO - don't take more than the dr. says (can cause seizures) and don't stop it suddenly without dr. supervision! Good luck to you - I think you'll be plesantly surprised at how the little things will no longer irritate you! Shirl [ ] Wellbutrin Saw my doctor today and discussed a request my family had made. Guest guest
Chrysin has been shown to affect the Cytochrome P450 enzymes that metabolize drugs, primarily the CYP1A1 and CYP3A4 isoforms. Wellbutrin is metabolized by a different isoform, CYP2B6. There should not be any interaction between Chrysin and Wellbutrin. ________________________________ From: ed <edhill_2006@...> Sent: Fri, May 28, 2010 7:44:49 AM Subject: Wellbutrin  On the Chrysin label it says " do not to take with a prescribed medication.
