Exercise increases insulin sensitivity, so, while you are technically decreasing your need for insulin, obviously the corollary of that is that you'll produce less insulin. Furthermore, exercise stimulates adrenalin, which has the opposite effect of insulin on fat cells (adrenalin induces lipolysis).
