Guest guest
Yes, sometimes dad refuses meds., and all cares. Sometimes he takes the meds. Yet, with all this his agitation is somewhat under control. Not sure what is going on, but have heard no complaints from the nh. I have not heard anything else from the hospital stay. Everything has been very tight lipped. I have had many apologies, even from the administrator. However, with them not speaking much about all of this...neither am I. I truly think that in itself is agrivating the staff...OH WELL. I do have a care plan meeting scheduled for next week, hopefully a lot of information will come out. Thank you for your continued prayers...there is definately power in prayer. Sandie
Guest guest
> Barb- Best of luck with the Ativan. It seemed to do the same for >my dad, in the beginning. Sandie hopefully Bill will only be on the Ativan for a few months, long enough for us to get out to his nerologist and to do some more research on this disease. If I have learned anything on this site and the spousal site it is that what works for some people does not work for others. I also know from experiance that alot of the drugs that work good in the beginning can be less effective or cause problems after prolonged use. I noticed that you are in Des Moines, my son-in-law was raised in McCallsburg near Ames. They are in Washington now but have plans in the future to move back there. My husband and I were able to visit twice when they lived there before, once in the summer and once in the winter...Summer was beautiful, the winter, not so much, I would rather spend a winter in Fairbanks Alaska (Fairbanks may be colder but there is no wind and not as much snow and I never saw an ice storm in Fairbanks) Take care. Guest guest
Barb I truly wish you and Bill the best of luck...especially with his upcoming dr. appt. I do agree that what works for one, doesn't necessarily work for another. I do know where McCallsburg is. Nice to know that there is a common bond here. Please tell your son-in-law hello from Iowa. I too love the summers here, some times a bit TOO warm and humid but nice anyway. Love having all seasons and raising my boys with the seasons. The snow and ice can also be a bit much at times, yet I have lived here all my life so don't really know any different. Thanks for the reply and take care of yourself. Guest guest
I am glad you have not received complaints. We just got out of a " bad spell " that lasted about a week. I was getting scared to answer my phone because it seemed the group home was calling every day. I am glad that is over with! I have to say, since she has been put on this Seroquel, she is much better! I hope the meeting next week produces good results. I will be thinking about you! Take care, RE: Re: hello, heres my story Yes, sometimes dad refuses meds., and all cares. Sometimes he takes the meds. Yet, with all this his agitation is somewhat under control.
