When Tony Volpentest ran here in Lisle in 1997, he competed in both the 100

and 200. His 100 meter dash time was 11.63 . His 200 meter time was 22.94.

He was not a very good starter, and this is typical of double below the knee

amputees. Once he was up to speed (stored elastic energy) he was quite

impressive.
