Guest guest
Thought some of you might enjoy these--unfortunately, they're all true--kind of scary, huh? Re scooter/powerchair: I applied to NC Voc. Rehab. Independent Living, and they measured, fitted, and let me try both. I decided on a scooter. I'm supposed to get it next month, so if you're ever in Asheville, LOOK OUT! I almost destroyed the cafeteria at the rehab center, pushing chairs and tables out of the way. The staff thought it was hilarious; I'm not so sure. So, be warned! I really need it for outings. When my son got married last week at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, there was so much walking, to get to and from the parking deck, then the chapel, outside to the limo, and back to the parking deck. I had a hard time with it. I have 2 grandkids, and I want to be able to go to the zoo, Dollywood, etc. Their parents can't afford those little trips, but we can, once in a while, so I want to be able to boogie with the girls--otherwise, I'd never make it. a friend invited me on a trip to the Mall of America--can any of you imagine going, maybe even WITH a scooter? I just laughed at her, and I know you know why I did. I'll talk to you all again later. Kay Fwd: More Medical Jokes > >
