Isn't that probably because the concentration of tea in kombucha is so low?

Usually tea is made with about six ounces of water per bag, but kombucha is made

with 32 ounces per bag. And tea has about a third the caffeine of coffee (and

also has l-theonine which produces a calming effect), so you'd have to drink

about 3 quarts of kombucha to get the same amount of caffeine as is in a cup of

coffee.
