Didn't realise a cough could be contagious, if it is nothing serious, we have had good success with just plain old Halls cough drops...come in different strengths and flavours. Beside the usual warm drinks, of course. Ev

Guest guest
I too am 5 " 2 and am a size 4. I would love to be at least 5 " 6 so I don't have to get a chair to get into my overhead storage. Debbie

Eve, I hadn't noticed this at all, and Robitussin is what I have been giving Bob for the last 5 yrs at the primary's suggestion. No ill effects. Wouldn't it be nice if one size fit all? Sorry to hear that Joe is confused again. So is Bob, complete with hallucinations and not sleeping well again. Lewy has him fully in his grasp once more. Hoping we as a group are not headed into another downslide with our LOs . . . Cheryl

Guest guest
When I gave Jack Robitussin DM, there were men flying in from all over (in the air, no airplanes) and several of them spent the night in bed with ME. He was really mad at me and stayed mad all day long. I had made a couple of wise cracks which didn't help the situation..... Guest guest
Sandie, I feel so sad for you and your Dad. For awhile I could see that my Mom's anxiety level was so high and it would just make me feel so bad for her. I hate the way the meds make her sleep so much, but I guess it's the lesser of two evils. Hugs from Pennsylvania. Mariea
Guest guest
Cheryl and All- My dad has been having more bad days lately. He struggles with what seem to be hallucinations and delusions. He usually stays in his room, and refuses most care. Today, after dressing and re-dressing him the staff finally was able to keep him clothed. He wouldn't take his meds., or eat breakfast. He opened one of the outside/locked doors that sets off a very loud alarm and held the door open until staff got there...which their response time is pretty quick. By the time I visited, he was still dressed, had eaten lunch, had taken meds., and cried most of the visit. He was very anxious and needed to walk a lot. When I would ask questions and prompt with a " yes " or " no " it was even difficult to understand his reply. So, sad as it may be, Lewy has my dad as well. Sure do appreciate this group and being able to ramble on, where others know what I am dealing with. Thanks to all!!! Guest guest
Mariea Thank you for your caring words. I know when my dad goes through the sleep mode, it bothers me, yet at the same time is comforting as he isn't awake enough to know what is going on. When he is awake this disease truly brings him down as he is very aware. Best of luck to you Mariea and hugs to ya! Guest guest
Hi Cheryl. Sorry to hear about Bob. I hope he bounces back soon. Strange about the Robitussin. My MIL's doctor said no Sudafed or OTC drying agents should be used. They said only prescribed meds should be taken. I never knew OTC drugs could be so dangerous. > Re: Everything! > > In a message dated 7/20/02 2:29:37 AM Central Daylight Time, > dashe@... writes: > > > > bought some Robitussin DM for me, but I noticed that any psychiatric or > > Parkinsons problems cannot take it. > > Eve, I hadn't noticed this at all, and Robitussin is what I have been > giving > Bob for the last 5 yrs at the primary's suggestion. Guest guest
I can relate Sandie. My MIL has similar experiences when she is having a " bad " day (or week). She too refuses care, meals, and meds. She becomes agitated and will even swear at some of the staff. After spending time in her room she usually will calm down. The bad days seem to pass in 1 to 3 days, but then again, she is in the first year of diagnoses (not first year of symptoms), so this will most likely change. It is so hard to see, and even harder not being able to do much. But I know what you are going through, so I am sending a hug your way!
