Guest guest
>She has a bedsore on her backside that has a hole. Shirley this pressure sore can get real nasty if not treated properly, what are they doing for it? It is usually caused by being left in the same position for too long of a period and possibly a wrinkle in the sheets or bedclothes. This Website is wonderful if you are checking into nursing homes http://www.medicare.gov/nhcopare/home.asp you should be able to copy this address and paste it in your browser. It should have information on the nh's that you are checking into, I was impressed because it also has the last inspection reports. Good luck to you and your family over the next few days. Stay strong and God Bless. Barb
Guest guest
Shirley, You are going through what we went through two + years ago. We had two choices for Nursing Home Care in our small town. We chose the one with the best reputation, but you will find that the people working in the homes are what makes the difference, not reputations. You are lucky in the fact that your Mom will have three caretakers between you, your brother, and your dad. When you take her home your Dad will be the primary caretaker 24/7. Please keep a close eye on him. Sometimes the major caretaker is the one who burns out first and you don't want both of them in a N. Home. Your dad will be home bound and will not be able to leave the house for any long term outings unless you have some kind of Home Care. Another plus for you is the fact that the nursing home you choose will see that someone in your family will be making a constant appearance daily and that will keep them on their toes in taking good care of your Mom. I wish you all the best of luck on your bumpy road ahead. If I can help with any other N. Home insight or experience, I am here. Debbie C.
