Guest guest
Robin, Legumes, beans are too much of a carb for me. Don't digest them well, slow my digestion and give me gas. They're too close to grains in length of historical use, imo. Exception is pinto beans (rarely in chili) as they're a purine, increasing DNA. Lentils are a purine too but will never like the taste. Green beans have lectins that agglutinate my blood type A, so they're out. Nuts, seeds were eaten before agriculture so more people are better adapted to them. So many peanut allergies could be that they're newer of the nuts, are underground rather than above as others and so much was put into the market > I forgot to ask, where do legumes/beans fit into all of this? Guest guest
Have to add me $.02 .......... Legumes are the only food besides dairy(only tried pasteurized so far) which give me instant asthma. I ate way too many of them when I became a vegetarian to substitute for animal protein, and they ruined my digestion. I also gain large amounts of weight if I eat them, even without grains. My son ate some legumes/grains when I did not know yet they were bad, and they give him a rash, congestion, gas and bloat him. I sprouted and cooked the legumes he ate, btw. While we are just two people, from researching and interviewing others, I believe legumes, like grains and pasteurized dairy, are detrimental for a large majority of humans. I think they are too difficult to digest and deplete the body of enzymes; they also feed unwanted organisms. I do not believe they were part of our original diet...the one we evolved on. take care, Michele >From: " Wanita Sears " <wanitawa@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Legumes was " Grains Good as Gold " >Date: Tue, 3 Feb 2004 09:14:40 -0500 > >Robin, > >Legumes, beans are too much of a carb for me.
