Some of the newer email clients have search functions which would be handy if you have been subscribed and receive individual emails. If you have a Google email account and receive individual emails on that account you have a powerful way to search the past messages. Lastly their is at least one offline reader called PG Offline which allows you to down- load an entire group from as long as you are subscribed to that group. A member could download all 56,000 messages overnight while sleeping and read/search the group at their leisure. The registered version allows the PG Offline user to download messages faster.
