Raw vodka. Now that is an interesting concept. I would think the process

of distillation would make such a drink impossible.

The alcohol can be concentrated by freezing and filtering out the

ice. That's how apple jack was originally made.

Interesting. Are you saying there are alternatives to heat distillation?

If so can you provide some more info or point me in the right direction?

By the way, what is Apple Jack? I know of a mixed drink by that name

that contains Jack s.

Speaking of Eskimo diet and the fact that they lived short lives.

Would this be due to the all animal protein/fat diet where they get

virtually no vegetable or carbs in their siets whatsoever?

Or perhaps the extreme climate they lived in ?

Somewhere far, far back in the archives, someone posted some data that

Steffanson got from church records, and they tended to die in their 70s and 80s,

with a spattering in the 90s and 60s, iirc.

Yep.

As I understand it, you freeze the alcoholic brew into slush and then

filter out the ice crystals. Do it a second time and you get pretty

strong liquor.

Apple jack is apple cider that has been completely fermented and then

" distilled " . Originally, this was done with freezing; the

commercially available apple jack you're likely to encounter these

days is conventionally distilled.
