Hi Sheryl,

They are a traditional weightlifting tool used in Russia-- a cast iron ball

with a loop handle. You can learn more at www.dragondoor.com

I doubt there are *any* gyms that have them. If there are any, very few. My

mom bought me one for Christmas.

I like both free weights and kettlebells, though kettlebells are the funnest.

At the gym, I do squats, deadlifts, bench press, dumbell arm curls, dumbell

presses (incline), weighted dips, pull ups, and ab exercises. I'm going to

alternate a gym cycle with a kettlebell cycle. Probably two months of the

former to one month of the latter.

Hey those look like fun. They are really interesting. So you have found a

gym that has them?

They look like they would be more user friendly than free weights.

They are way more fun than free weights, in my opinion. I never could get

into free weights much, but I've been doing kettlebells religiously now for

about 2 years. What is also great about them is that they don't take up much

space. I workout with them in my S.F. studio apartment.
