About a day, 24 hours.

Well, if it tastes good you haven't " failed " ! A lot of people here

make jerky that is basically very baked beef.

Mine is a dehydrator, not an oven ... it has a pretty heavy-duty

air flow, and I let it get QUITE dry. But the drying time depends

on how thick you slice it too. Thin slices dry pretty quick, 12 hours

maybe.
