Guest guest
Ive had this problem last 3 days. Normally I will bowel movement in the mornings. Last 3 days however I've had that bowel movement in the morning, but midway through my WD dinner I feel a little unwell in stomach. ( feels like kidneys ect are working overtime or its just the overall feeling of discomfort in the stomach region(s) ) I then got to bolt to toilet and my bowel movement is virtually nothing but liquid. And HOT to. Wiping after is a little uncomfortable. My dinner is usually a cup of kimchee followed by meat, then either potatoe or sourdough bread with lots of butter and then usually some berries with coconut cream I don't know if im overloading the probiotic kimchee on a initial empty stomach or what? Anyone got any ideas I would be VERY gratefull at the moment. ]

If not, I'd encourage it (on the computer so it is searchable). An Excel spreadsheet or just Notepad works fine. I get something like that when I react to a food ... usually the NEXT day, so the problem is the previous day's food. Sometimes one meal will trigger it because my body just doesn't like that meal. The HOT part may be the kimchi, it may also be the fact the food just isn't digested properly. When I was eating wheat it really burned (and I had no kimchi at that point) to the point the tissues were rather damaged and caused other problems. If it were me I'd suspect the dairy or the sourdough (those are the most common allergens). Canola oil is iffy too, though I doubt you use that. The only way to tell is experiment ... eat JUST steak and potato one day (with oil, not butter). If that sets ok, the next day do steak, potato and butter. Then add the kimchi back. Process of elimination ... If you are really suffering, the classic way to get over that is to eat some plain white rice with maybe some meat. For some reason white rice is " safe " for most people (even though it is totally non-nutritious high-glycemic and all the rest -- it works). Red wine helps me too, I don't know why exactly but it is a classic remedy for stomach upset. (kefir-beer is good too). And kimchi on an empty stomach MIGHT be a problem, depending on the kimchi. I can't eat cabbage or radishes or tea on an empty stomach or I get heartburn though, but I do snack on kimchi commonly with no ill effects, even the commercial stuff. Also keep track of drinks, if you are drinking anything. Alcoholic beverages contain all kinds of stuff they don't put on the label. Also, pain killers (NSAIDS) can cause microscopic colitis, which takes awhile to heal and has those basic symptoms. Pepto bismol will probably alleviate the symptoms, esp. if you take it like 3 times a day. It masks the problem though, when you are trying to figure out what the offending problem is. Pepto blocks the " toxic " outpouring of the bad bacteria that tend to take over when food is undigested. -- Heidi
Guest guest
Thanks heidi, I usually eat pretty much the same thing every day I had not had butter or milk though for a few weeks. Last 2 days however I had a small half a cup of kefir whey after some stretching workout I did And last night had butter on the sourdough bread. ( only got the sourdough and the butter yesterday ) But every other day its just 4 eggs during the day ( 2 in morning and 2 mid arvo as the low eating period ) Then the WD dinner which is normally either beef or chicken, potatoes, kimchee, big bowl of coconut cream and fruit I've also woken up real fuzzy eyed today ( I been up a couple hours, had shower, drank some water ( I only drink water ) and for dinner I have ginger beer if I have it avail. And my eyes are still fuzzy as I write this... _____ From: Heidi Schuppenhauer [mailto:heidis@...] Sent: Sunday, 8 February 2004 2:46 AM Subject: Re: stomach problem? >I don't know if im overloading the probiotic kimchee on a initial empty >stomach or what? > >Anyone got any ideas I would be VERY gratefull at the moment. ] > > Do you keep a food diary? Guest guest
Anybody got an idea what a healthy immune system does when a typical stomach bug hits? Since starting on cod liver oil, a big dose of pollen (such as when mowing through a big wad of weeds) will prompt my eyes and nose to water profusely, like I'm trying to flush out bad stuff. Then things will calm down. This is in contrast to what used to happen (before CLO)...I used to have near-constant post-nasal drip and sore throat and scratchy throat and cough. It was like my immune system was half- asleep and barely able to remember its job. Perhaps a healthy digestive system works harder at purging bad stuff, via diarrhea? > Ive had this problem last 3 days. > > > > Normally I will bowel movement in the mornings. > > > > Last 3 days however I've had that bowel movement in the morning, but midway > through my WD dinner > > I feel a little unwell in stomach. Guest guest
- >Perhaps a healthy digestive system works harder at purging bad stuff, >via diarrhea? No, I think a healthy digestive system digests and destroys bad stuff. I used to get food poisoning literally at the drop of a hat. Then I found a stomach acid supplement I could tolerate, and presto bango, no more diarrhea, all stools nice and solidly formed, etc. My digestion (or at least my absorption) is still deficient, but HCl made an _enormous_ difference. -

Actually I'm not sure if it's the allergy or something else, but when I eat a lot of cream I can't focus. But gut problems may cause this outside of any allergy .... I'd take some pepto and get back in shape, then experiment .. -- Heidi >

Guest guest
>Heidi, > >What is pepto and please tell me it b cheap? It is Pepto Bismol, a pink liquid that contains Bismuth. Bismuth has been used for gut problems for at least 100 years ... it's pretty harmless. Are you in the US? It is in every drug store here, and most grocery stores. In other countries I'll bet they have the same thing, maybe under another name. And yeah, it is cheap. Tastes and looks like bubble gum. To get rid of microscopic colitis, someone I know took it 3x a day for 10 days. Worked like a charm. Or take it every time you have a bowel movement until things get normalized. -- Heidi
Guest guest
When I take it it comes up faster than it goes down. No matter why I take it. But it does work for a lot of people. If your gut is unhappy, it tends not to do it's jobs, one of which is reabsorbing fat. There is always the possibility you have some sort of food poisoning too, My DH and I both could not eat fatty meals as of a few years ago. Just didn't digest. I got horribly ill one time off a batch of tempura. The fat digestion seems to have healed over the past few years ... but it took awhile. -- Heidi
Guest guest
I feel fine. ( felt a little unwell when I had that minor runs the other night ) but was fine by time I hit the bed. Then just the fuzziness in morning. Apart from that all feels good. I SEEM to digest ok as far as I can tell. ( as in I get bowel movement every day, by morning my stomach is completely empty feeling around 10am ) I know its empty because of the stomach suck in exercise I do Maybe it could have been the whey. Maybe it just went funny but still seemed to taste ok _____ From: Heidi Schuppenhauer [mailto:heidis@...] Sent: Monday, 9 February 2004 2:41 PM Subject: RE: stomach problem? >I skipped the kimchee last night and have woken up Not as fuzzy eyed as >yesterday > >By stools have floated tosmroning.
