Guest guest
Hey all, I have been talking to a friend of mine who plays college softball. Recently she has been suffering from Patella Femoral Syndrome first on her one knee then the other. They are in winter break right now so she doesn't have access to her athletic trainer. For some reason I am not sure of their S & C coach is trying to get them all to drop bodyfat (I measured them in our lab here at school with a bodpod all averaged around 24% so it seems stupid to me) anyway they are doing the P90X workout over winter break as well as running a good bit. I believe she is running on a gravel road at home as opposed to the track at school if that may be part of the reason. I really don't have much experience with this condition, but was reading up on it and advised her to begin doing soft tissue work on her hips esp. glute medius and TFL. She said this has cleared up the pain alot just with that. I also gave her some exercises to do pre workout to activate the glutes (cook hip raise, side lying bent knee abductions, X-band walk etc.) I guess I am just curious if my stab in the dark is along th right path and what y'all have found helps with this problem. Thanks alot Scot on Lynchburg, USA
