Guest guest
Hi all, I'm trying to compare the stimulant effect of chocolate to something I'm more familiar with--coffee or tea. (Really, I have not been a chocolate eater my whole life, only a bite now and then). I got some Dragoba organic hot chocolate, good stuff, but contains cane sugar and next time I plan to get something unsweetened and will add my own honey or something.. So this says serving size 3 tablespoons (I use more like one heaping teaspoon), and the 3T contains Theobromine 2.5 grams. I generally have some trouble sleeping, but can't tell if I'm making it worse with this amount of hot chocolate in the evening. Do you think the amount of theobromine I'm getting in a heaping tsp could be too stimulating? I'm pretty sensitive to coffee, although I can drink tea earlier in the day and it won't affect me at night. Not sure if theobromine even compares to caffeine.. Another thought.. chocolate and coffee are bitter, and may in that sense be helpful for digestion..? Hehe.. my healing diet is gonna turn into coffee, chocolate and wine.. oops, some food in there somewhere.. -
