Guest guest
Katja, Fixation on food thought lower in the food chain to me doesn't justify more humanity or humility. It can show that hierarchy is a belief when the opposite is true in all nature, that none can survive or be without the other, so all is equal and cannot survive without some form of nourishment from all others. Heme in chlorophyll is the same heme in human blood. Had quite a heated debate with a Buddhist animal rights activist about hunting to the equal and interconnected point few years back. Came down to " Bet you have no trouble killing a mosquito " Replied for gardening I use garlic to keep them from biting me and to prevent my killing them less. As he'd spoke of traveling in a car my point then was, the car you're driving splats mosquitos on the windshield so they're all dead mosquitos killed by their human predator. > my big thing about religious vegetarianism, though, and maybe it's just > cause i'm all tree-huggy, is why is it any less bad to kill a plant for > food than an animal?
