Guest guest
Interesting alternative approach -- PHYSIATRY (no, in this instance that doesn't read 'psychiatry') -- sounds worth looking into, altho I've not yet tried it myself but hope to move in that direction if necessary (click on link below) http://www.spine-health.com/topics/conserv/physiatry/physiat01.html

It concerns itself with primarily minimizing the effects of disability; and with many disabilities come pain. I would say that few practitioners but those treating cancer & severe ( & often worsening) disabilities see more pain, except in war. Physiatrists are somewhat scarce. But many do specialize in pain. Physiatrists tend to have a more pragmatic and practical attitude toward what they treat. They deal with all kinds of horrors people go through & try to get them back to a level where they can function as well as possible & as well as they can accept. It requires constant innovation & leveling with the severity of the problems they are addressing. Their field is Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
