The Apostle says that it is better to be celibate, but if a person could not restrain themselves - avoid fornication is how he puts it - then " let every man have his own wife and every woman have her own husband. " And about homosexuality, Roman 1:26-27 says, " For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their woman exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error. " For us who believe, that's the Word on the subject. Sharon

" @@@@@@@@@@@@@ Wow, what if we were all " better " ? I'm very ambitious and competitive, so I'd like to be better than other people. No more sex. I like that phrase " if a person could not restrain themselves " ... so literary... hehehe... reminds me something one of my Amish farmer friends told me (I doubt he made it up himself): " We don't believe in birth-control, and we don't have any self-control " !!! When I'm talking to married Amish guys sometimes and they learn I'm 27 and unmarried, they like to express shock and vigorous dismay about how much I'm missing... Sometimes the culture gap is amusing... Mike SE Pennsylvania

" Sharon, Neither of these define marriage. Even if you stretch the passage to figure the first passage admonishes men not to take husbands, and women not to take wives, there is no basis whatosever in the passage to conclude that defines a marriage as between a man and a woman. could very well have defined a marriage as between any two people, but considered only heterosexual marriages moral, and considered homosexual marriages immoral.
