Guest guest
Dear Group, My Sister is a nurse and has a patient that developed a strong metallic taste in her mouth after chemotherapy. The patient is currently on a detox program. The metallic taste is worse if she has any sugar and can only eat grapefruit and lemons. Some other foods also seem to trigger this strong taste. My sister is going to confirm whether she has mercury fillings. What explanation would there be for this after chemo? Would it enhance the gassing off of mercury fillings? Would the detox also bring out a metallic taste because she is getting rid of heavy metals? Does chemo have metals in it? Any help would be appreciated. TIA, Bee
Guest guest
Bee, I had a very strong metallic taste in my mouth last year after doing a 3 week epsom salt detox cleanse. It then became a sour taste and eventually developed into a salty taste. I feared it was permanent as it continued for a number of days if not weeks (can't remember well now). I don't have mercury fillings so it was not related to that. I searched on the Internet and found that it was very common among people on medication or with Srojen's disease (don't know how to spell it). Thankfully it went away after a while. Someone suggested it was just part of my body detoxing. Hope this helps, Filippa metallic taste in the mouth after chemo Dear Group, My Sister is a nurse and has a patient that developed a strong metallic taste in her mouth after chemotherapy.
