I may be interested in stone weights to ferment stuff in gallon plastic

buckets, ala sandor katz. I know plastic is evil. since shipping would eat

up most of the cost, i personally wouldn't be motivated to pay a ton.

If it comes with recipes, I'll buy from you. My recent, first sauerkraut

experiment failed. I need help.

I was thinking about making little " jar weights " that could

be inserted into standard mason jars to hold down the

vegies while they ferment. It will be stoneware with

no glaze, so there isn't a problem with lead etc.

leaching (I can make sure it's the right clay too).

Does that sound interesting to anyone? If they work

out I might market them on eBay. How much do you think

a thing like that might go for?

I'm also considering making mini-Harsch crocks with

a water seal, for making kefir-beer.

Hmmm ... that is another good idea. You can get ceramic crocks at many

hardware stores, but no weights.

I'll send you recipes free ... but how did it fail?
