Guest guest
this is a thought process i'm having - i have no science to go along with this, i still have to get some of that import douglass milk and cholesterol digestion info, floating poop thread, malabsorption thread, liver flush thread, celiac thread... ok. so they tell us that we need fiber to be regular, and to lower cholesterol. but the eskimos - do they get much in the way of fiber? (i know, i'm not an eskimo, but in general " the eskimos " are the litmus i use to make sure that i'm actually using my brain instead of listening to the monkeys.) i don't imagine they really do (insert some research here) and yet i imagine that they must be regular enough to not complain about it (i don't think that's research i have access to). so, do we really need all that fiber? or is it perhaps that we need (something crazy like 30g a day is the recommendation!) the fiber to balance out the rest of the damage that we're doing to our system? now, don't get me wrong - i just learned to love kale and i'm not going to be giving up my veggie fiber any time soon. but in terms of all the oatmeal and cheerios we're supposed to be eating, which i don't and i haven't noticed any particular difference...
