liver flush update

today is the first day of my 5-day dr. schulze liver flush. so far it's

going very well. i've done 2 of 3 flushes and taken most of the tinctures,

teas and intestinal formulas (you have to take them throughout the day).

michael had told me that the flush tastes pretty awful so i should down it

quickly. to my pleasant surprise the flushes were actuallly quite yummy!

especially the first one, i think because i used better apples. the flush

consists of fresh juiced apples, distilled water, olive oil, fresh squeezed

lemon and lime juices, garlic and ginger. i was also happy to find the detox

tea is tasty (which you take shortly after each flush).

my only two complaints are

1) i felt somewhat nauseated after the first morning round of water, flush,

tea, superfood drink and tinctures because i was SO stuffed full of liquid,

by the time i took the last tincture, it was a bit much. and that tincture

is so strong it's like taking a shot of whiskey - it even makes me shudder

involuntarily like hard liquor (hic!). i couldn't eat all day til now

because i was drowning in fluids. LOL.

2) it's a lot of work! i was in the kitchen a good part of the day, getting

tea, juicing, mixing the flush, mixing the intestinal formula with juice,

cleaning my juicer after each flush (ack!), etc.

however, i FEEL great! my energy has been excellent all day and i had a

great workout. my friend had told me she knows folks who have done liver

flushes who couldn't work because the flush was so harsh. they probably did

some other flush, i'd guess. dr. schulze's flush is the most comprehensive

one i've seen, but it doesn't seem harsh. of course it's just day one, let's

see how i feel by day 5 :-)
