I've used it. It's better than, say, Crisco, because it isn't hydrogenated, but it doesn't taste particularly good. It is fairly cheap though, and doesn't have a strong taste that a family might object to (if you cook for others, you may find they don't LIKE the taste of coconut oil, tallow, or lard). I have heard some objections to it on the grounds of how palm oil is grown and harvested (not ecologically ... palm trees, OTOH, grow more or less wild) -- but I never validated those for myself. -- Heidi Jean Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
