You'd have to ask Spectrum about the process. Have used it, is labelled no

trans fats. Works well, flavor bland in comparison to lard and coconut oil

for frying.

I've used it. It's better than, say, Crisco, because it isn't

hydrogenated, but it doesn't taste particularly good. It

is fairly cheap though, and doesn't have a strong taste

that a family might object to (if you cook for others, you

may find they don't LIKE the taste of coconut oil, tallow, or lard).

I have heard some objections to it on the grounds of how palm

oil is grown and harvested (not ecologically ... palm trees, OTOH,

grow more or less wild) -- but I never validated those for myself.
