I think that poll was a little confusing. I'm sure that virtually all

of us have been injected with steroids (ie; cortisone) at one time or

another, but I've never heard of anyone having been given cortisone

or any other steroid via an intravenous drip, which I assume is what

the question was asking(?) I know Remicade is given via IV drip, but

I'm pretty sure it isn't a steroid.

[Meghan's Note: I don't know who set the poll up, but I thought it was confusing

as well. So I made an " executive " decision to close that particular poll. I

guess I shouldn't have sent the results out. ;) ]

Hi, about 15 years ago when I had a massive flare up I was given an

intravenous drip of steroid. I think it was called something like

Solimedrone (SP). I was given 1 dose of 1000mg every 48 hrs, for 6 days and

the results were fantastic literally over night it killed my flare up.

It lasted for about 3 months but then suddenly dropped off

and left me back where I started. It also caused me to feel very depressed,

during that 3 months knowing sooner or later it was going stop working. The

hospital stopped using soon after that as 3000mg of steroid was thought to

be a bit excessive!!!
