Guest guest
Aaaaahhhaaahaaa haaa haah! Owww, this is so good! I was in tears with this great reply! I s'pose I was asking for it in my question phrasing, but really was serious with the matter. Oh, man, I would love to send this off to others, with proper credit of course. Weehee hee. Oh, thank you so much for that great laugh! Deanna first one needs to insure the coconut is relatively content. Sing to it and stroking it with nicey-nice praises helps a lot. Next is place it on a suitable base...and then curtain-off its neither regions for privacy. Coco nuts are shy you know. After that is tricky...finding the little teats can be difficult for the uninitiated. Some may never find them at all. It takes a careful eye and great hand coordination. One should warm their fingers to at least 85 degrees (approximate temperature of native tropic environment ofthe coconut) . Nothing will make the teats of a coconut " suck-up " into the body of the coconut than cold fingers. I m sure you understand. The actual milking process requires skills that can only be acquired through actual practice, under a " live " instructor. It has never (to my knowledge) been able to be taught in any medium other than " live " . You can try the harmoneous singing, praises, warm fingers, curtained off aparatus, , etc. and still not get the desired end results. Still, some where someone will be the " firts " and it could very well be you. Stick to it ness will go a long way. Best wishes!! making coconut milk I hate using a can of coconut milk when coconuts are so cheap now. Any ideas on how to milk a coconut? Guest guest
Whazza so funny? Thats the way we do it in my country (Panama) where we have MANY coconuts. :-) Many try and use new fangled method of adding the coconut " meat " (the white stuff on the inside) to the coconut water both into a blender and puree it together to get the desired results. If you examine carefully a coconut ( the brown hairy thing) you'll notice that its acyually a liitle oval shape, with one " end " having little circular " eyes " One can get fancy an learn which of the eyes are " fake " and which are actually able to poke out to drain the interior water. Its easiest to use a electric drill with a 1/2 bit to just drill out which ever and pour the water out using a sieve to catch any of the shell. Once the interior water has been vacated, gather a few (2-3) plastic grocery bags (now you will have a decent use for them) and put the coconut into the bags and swing them around over head and SMASH them agains a concrete slab or steps. This of course will crack up the nut. Remove the piece of nut and with a fillet knive you will be able to " pop " the white meat from the hard shell. The knife can also trim off any brown skin. Collect the water saved earlier and white meat , place into blender and voila or viola, whichever you prefer, yopu will have creammy coconut milk. Some claim that addfing the pieces of the cracked coconut to a low temperature oven will make the meat pop off as well since the coconut " shell " and the meat are of different densities...but I never tried it myself. Good luck.. :-) Panama bob making coconut milk I hate using a can of coconut milk when coconuts are so cheap now. Any ideas on how to milk a coconut? Guest guest
Yes, I have gotten moldy, fermented coconuts. Ever since, I always make sure that they are nice in the face (eyes) with no holes in them, and that cracks are not present. But if I get a fuzzy one, I bring it back and get my money returned. Fresh coconut is so nummy. Oh coconut I love so true, nothing canned will ever do! Merci, mon ami!
