Did you have the meeting at Katy's school yet? How did it go?

Hi Mandi,

The Monday after I posted here things seem to be looking better,she

started having a bit of homework and I'm getting more information in

her log.She has english with a very good SEN teacher and seems to be

making some progress.Also her keyworker who she works with a few

lessons seems to be very good.The lessons she has with this woman seem

effective.She has also done quite a bit with raisng katy's profile,eg

had her reading a prayer in a founders day service for the yr 7 pupils

and their families and also as got Katy in the school trampolining

team .Katy is taking part in a trampolining competition.

Maths seems to be the big problem.I'm going to request a meeting with

the Maths teacher.I don't know what she is being taught ,there seems to

be no consistency and I don't know what her targets are.They seem to be

doing very basic stuff with her and each lesson present her with

something different.I'm very confused!!! and I can see how Katy hasn't

got a hope in hells chance.She now seems very confused on maths rules

that she knew.

Bill went to the target setting meeting last Tuesday (I had to stay

home with Tara as she had had her toenail removed ).He felt her form

teacher didn't have much idea about Katy's needs,and Bill wasn't that

clear about what they were as he dosen't do that much school work with

her.

So quite a bit of the schooling seems good ,but we are still having

some problems that need to be sorted.

She's bunged up at the moment as the transport escort has been giving

her sweets in the morning !!but thats another story !!
