Guest guest
I just read about this rather interesting connection. See the links below. Do the descriptions of wrist movement seen in autism resemble these 'liver flaps' as described. I have always wondered what precipitates this hand flapping....... http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Liver+flap http://www.healthatoz.com/healthatoz/Atoz/common/standard/transform.jsp?requestU\ RI=/healthatoz/Atoz/ency/liver_encephalopathy.jsp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liver_flap http://www.rnceus.com/ld/lddecomp.html (: rapid involuntary flapping of the wrists, also known as " liver flap)

Guest guest
---Hi Is this (hepatic encephalopathy)to do with gut bacteria? I thought I'd read about it some time ago, and think that anti-biotics are used to treat it. I am interested in gut bacteria as a (partial) cause of autistic symptoms and have been mooching about, trying to find a connection with gut bacteria and mental health issues. I think the symptoms here are quite like D-Lactic acid acidosis, which is also mentioned by Elaine Gotchall for SCD. Guest guest
---Hi (again!) On this site, it mentions lactulose being used to stop intestinal bacteria from producing ammonia, and also neomycin can be used for the same. The liver must not be making the ammonia safe. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000302.htm Glynis In Autism-Biomedical-Europe , " Glynis Steele " wrote: > > ---Hi > > Is this (hepatic encephalopathy)to do with gut bacteria? Guest guest
My 6 yearold flaps her hands at the wrists and kicks both feet on the ground when she is telling you a story or making up a story - she says it makes her brain work properly but it is rather disturbing to watch. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I just read about this rather interesting connection. Guest guest
Maybe this is like people clicking their fingers when they can't remember a word. I forget words all the time and do all sorts of physical stuff to help me remember. It sort of kicks my brain into gear. Guest guest
I just read that converting ammonia to urea renders the former safe.
