Guest guest
I recently noticed a discussion of kombucha cultures on one of my raw food lists. Sounded interesting. I didn't know if I'd like the flavor, but it turns out my local health food store, Roots in Fitchburg, Mass., had some commercially brewed bottles. I bought a few. I liked it. Just as an experiment, I put my last bottle with an equal amount of sweet green tea in a mayo jar. It's been evolving for about ten days now. Here's a picture: http://www.thoughtdog.com/kombucha/kombucha_day_10.jpg Seems to have formed a benign gelatinous mass (BGM) with a few tendrils. Just in the last couple of days, I'm seeing bubbles trapped under the thickening glob. Smells like vinegar. I'm going to leave it alone for a few more days, then see if I can teach it tricks.
