Guest guest
I know there's a few women on this list suffering from hot flashes. Last Sat. I went to see an herbalist to see what suggestions she might make. Here's the list of the ingredients she made into a tea for me to take: Sage leaf, oatstraw, nettle leaf, red clover flowers and leaves, elder flowers, mint. I also bought a bottle of Black Cohosh tincture from her. Started the tea and the tincture on Saturday. I have not had a hot flash since Sunday. Night sweats have been minimal. The black cohosh gives me headaches, but that might be transitional, so I'm willing to put up with them for a few more days. Don't know if this info will help anyone else, but I thought it was worth sharing. Sharon
Guest guest
I'm rather new to the group, but these herbs are also recommended by Susun Weed, my favorite herbalist who, is also in agreement with Nourishing Traditions. She has a wonderful menopause book and a few other books. Probably her most famous one is " wise woman's herbal for the childbearing year. " Her site is www.susunweed.com and no I don't work for her I wish I did though! I drink infusions of comfrey leaf, nettles, red clover and oatstraw everyday. They are the nourishing herbs, not medicinal ones. I've actually managed to stop taking any supplements thanks to the herbs, kefir, etc. Dana in Oklahoma who is trying desparately to keep up with reading all my email groups! --- In , " Sharon " <sharonz@v...> wrote: > I know there's a few women on this list suffering from hot flashes. > Last Sat. Guest guest
I have read that the black cohosh will give someone a headache if they have plenty of estrogen...so your headaches might not go away unless you reduce or eliminate the BC. I've seen this with friends as well. K Might be menopause helpful I know there's a few women on this list suffering from hot flashes. Last Sat.
