The Post Polio clinic in Western Australia are collecting data on the incidence of carnitine deficiency in children and grandchildren of people who had polio as children or pre child bearing. If anyone has tested their child with hypotonia or poor energy levels for carnitine deficiency - Total and Free and is a descendent of a polio sufferer can you send your results to Tessa Jupp at "Post Polio WA" poliowa@... Results within range are not necessarily indicative of sufficient carnitine levels their website explains how to work out the percentage difference. - Acetyl L carnitine can also help + speech where hypotonia is an issue.
