Hi Jacqui,

Yes, Ds couldn't bear it when he got wet. So, if it rained he sucked

his clothes and they got even more wet. He couldn't bear the rain

canopy over him, or wear a hat/hood so it would end with him

screaming and trying to strip off!

He can't tolerate others encroaching on his space and would lash out

so public transport was out of the question.

He would try and stop the wheels of the buggy turning if we went in

the 'wrong' direction and badly grazed his hands a couple of times

(fortunately this was noted at the GP's)

He would regularly refuse to walk and I'd have to carry him. He would

become floppy and would 'helicoptor' we me breaking my back trying to

hold him upright.

He hated dogs, umbrella's and people wearing hats or hoods (We live

in London, so that was a BIG problem!)

He would stim like mad in shops, and would get out of control (I

think it was the lights and wireless frequencies)

Lots more stuff, but yeah, none of this was under his conscious

control. Anymore than his decision not to speak was...!

long time ago my son's decision to walk or not was largely dependant on

what sort of cars were parked outside our front door...

at that time we were turned down for any sort of dla, let alone mobility

component... I'm so glad you got it Jane, at last some justice.

Thanks for explaining and well done on your success.

I agree on the wireless, EMS angle.
