Guest guest
While drinking a strong mead and reading posts last night, I had a few thoughts on iron. Is the problem with vegetarians and iron absorption a gut deal, like the iron not absorbing at all, or is it an issue with the hemoglobin (or where ever the iron is in the blood), like maybe you absorb it, but not much ends up incorporated in the blood. (Maybe you could run a magnet over your stool to see if the iron absorbed :-)) I've been reading lately about how easily stuff is absorbed through your skin and I thought if you had an gut absorption problem, maybe you can absorb iron through you skin. I don't know if this is possible or how to best absorb it through the skin, but maybe soaking in a bath with a cup or so of molasses or that herby thing with iron, flora-something. Or maybe run some spleen through a blender, smear some on a little square of paper/plastic, and tape it to body somewhere? Betsy
