Guest guest
Dear Native Nutrition members, I would like to know please, what is the consensus and your comments here on: Is it beneficial/healthy to drink distilled water? What if that distilled water was made structured, or 'clustered' (see www.csibeverages.com for more information on the supposed benefits of structured/clustered water, which the healing waters of famous springs, like Lourdes, France, may have been healing/beneficial because they contained structured water (small groupings of readily absorbed water molecules, unlike most water, which is 'bound' into long, not as readily absorbed chains of water molecules they say). Also, what if that distilled water was 'alkalinized' and had minerals added to it, with say, coral calcium, before drinking, would that be the ideal drinking water, health wise? Furthermore, what about this idea that distilling water 'de-energizes' it, according to a recent advertizement I read in a paper (may have been a scam basically selling a water 'energizer' product)? Also, at least those here in Florida or any sandy area, you may be interested to know, that it is quite easy to dig one's own well, using a common garden hose and a series of say 10' 1 " diameter PVC pipes, hose connectors, and waterproof PVC glue. Attaching the hose to the first section of PVC pipe, and turning on the water, that and each subsequent section of pipe acts as a drill quickly digging deep down into the sand, to the necessary ~150' to reach the water table, from which a pump may draw the water, or in the case of hitting an artesian (pressurized) well the water flows freely by itself. Finally, if distilling is recommended, could anyone refer me to where I might purchase economically a water distilling kit that I could assemble to distill my own water with? With thanks, M. -- _______________________________________________ Get your free email from http://www.iname.com

I never bought into the idea that distilled or reverse osmosis water will leach minerals from the body, but my wife recently discovered that RO water is irritating to her rather sensitive GI tract, so aggressively solvent water may not be the best thing for all people. I've been drinking RO water for more than 20 years, and I'm not aware of any negative impact on my own health from it, but I'm going to switch to a non-RO filter just to be safe (our water supply is not municipal, so fluoride and other crap is not an issue). The claim that drinking distilled water is the ideal for human physiology doesn't ring true for me because rain water would have been the only commonly available distilled water while humankind was evolving, and I'd wager that consumption of mineralized water from lakes, streams, etc. was far more common. Guest guest
It seems odd to discuss how to add back to distilled water what was purposely removed. -Terry Also, what if that distilled water was 'alkalinized' and had minerals added to it, with say, coral calcium, before drinking, would that be the ideal drinking water, health wise? How did your wife know that it was the RO water irritating her GI tract? Just curious since we just recently put in a RO filtering system and it's been lately that I've been having trouble in my upper GI tract. ~ Fern

She's a German citizen and travels to Germany several times a year. What she kept noticing is that her GI tract issues don't flare up nearly as much when she's over there, so we brainstormed to figure out what she does differently. The biggest difference is that she drinks mineral water and tap water over there and RO water here in the states. She switched from RO water to bottled spring water, and the irritation cleared up. I'm going to try not drinking RO water for several days and see if it helps. ~ Fern
