Guest guest
Hi Steph Dont have any nystatin but we too are fighting yeast. has been really poorly for a few weeks and has had 3 sets of antibiotcs, sigh (Throat, skin rash then UTI - such a normal immune system!). When we saw the GP first tiem her throat looked a bit thrushy too. He gave us nystan drops but she was going a bit crazy on them (or it coulda been the antibiotics) so I stopped them. So if she was yeasty back then she would have been worse after another 2 sets. As soon as she stopped school for the hols we started yeast fighting. We are using Candex which I think is great. It has such a different mechanism of action (being an enzyme combination) to an anti-fungal like nystatin (That its possible to become resistant to) that I feel it probably works better. Not very scientific perhaps! In addition to Candex we are using extra probiotics namely high doses of Saccharomyces boulardii (working up to 6 per day). Sid Baker really rates this as a short sharp treatment so we will do this too. Have also introduced Culturelle one per day in addition to the 4 each of VSL3 and CP1 we normally use. I have just bought dioxychlor from Mandi and will introduce this too. Never tried this before but heard many good things about it. We already use yeast aid and biocidin everyday too. I occasionally use Colloidal silver when gets really yeasty so will probably do a short course of this before school begins in 10 days. She does really well on this and its interesting that we had this very normal (although huge) pooh this morning. This always happens when is on certain antibiotics or yeasty fighters. Wish I had a wee lab at home to try and figure out what is going on. Its a juggle for sure. HTH Caroline xx
Guest guest
Poor . That's not fun. Think this time of year is especialy hard - no sunlight and bugs flying around. Certainly Tom's immune system can live without it thanks! We do have culturelle and colloidal silver. Want to keep yeast at bay but dont' want any major die off reaction as not sure that's not what caused the back up in teh first place. Sigh, as you say xx > > Hi Steph > > Dont have any nystatin but we too are fighting yeast. has > been really poorly for a few weeks and has had 3 sets of antibiotcs, > sigh (Throat, skin rash then UTI - such a normal immune system!). > When we saw the GP first tiem her throat looked a bit thrushy too. Guest guest
Many thanks - we have fluconazole (diflucan) - pretty vital here. But still seeking about 10 nystatin. Guest guest
P.S did it also make your child hyper, i am currently sat in thelounge and he is running frantically around, seems happy enough but heis usually asleep by now and he had awful smelling wind! >>That's likely die off - have you got any activated charcoal? YOu can pick that up at Holland & Barrett tomorrow if not. One hour after the Nystatin and away from other supps, soaks up the wind and other die off toxins. Its also a full moon tonight........... Guest guest
Thanks Mandi How much charcoal should i give, should i give it each time i give the nystatin(he has to have it 4 times a day), if so how long after the nystatin. Does the full moon have to do with how he is acting, I wish i had his energy it's wearing me out just watching him running around, he is occasionally stopping and starts laughing then lining up three toys on sofa, then throwing them on the floor one by one then repeating the whole process, he has only had ONE dose - 1ml thats it, although i must admit i have started GF/CF/SGF diet last Sunday so maybe the nystatin and the full moon have pushed him over the edge - i must admit he has been alot more vocal this week, toilet training is going quite well also. x > > > In a message dated 09/01/2009 21:25:29 GMT Standard Time, > michelle0471@... writes: > > P.S did it also make your child hyper, i am currently sat in the > lounge and he is running frantically around, seems happy enough but he > is usually asleep by now and he had awful smelling wind! > > > > >>That's likely die off - have you got any activated charcoal?
