i have been ordering from that company--vital choice. they say

they routinely test for mercury and pcbs and that their fish has

very low levels. check their website for the exact info:

www.vitalchoice.com.

i eat salmon once a day and i have mercury poisoning so i am

very concerned about how much i consume. that's why i

switched to vital choice...in general, wild Alaskan salmon is

supposed to have the lowest levels of mercury...so they say.

, i'm curious, what do you order from them? If you don't mind sharing,

what does it cost per month? I can't figure out what makes their salmon

different from other wild salmon.

their salmon may not be different from others...but they test theirs

and others do not. i order king salmon when it's in season.

check their website for prices www.vitalchoice.com. the larger

the order, the less per piece.

If you are eating salmon every day, does that mean that you DO NOT

eat, beef, bison, pork or chicken? Also do you order the canned salmon

from vital choice too? I ordered some and have started making salmon

croquettes 2x a week. It is the only way I can get dh and my grandson

to eat salmon. I don't think they have realized it yet that it's been

over a way since we had beef! What is your favorite way to prepare the

salmon (not canned) from vital choice? So far it is too tough for me.

Meaning I must have over cooked it. Maybe if I had a better way to

cook it, they would like it! Did you see the new Salmon web site that

I posted? Go see and let me know what you think. There are some good

sounding recipes there.

In the mercury article I read he said ALL fish and seafood were contaminated.

I eat wild Alaskan salmon too that says it's ben tested but I guess you can't

100% sure, nor can everything we eat be 100% pure.

Anybody living in the Puget sound area? My hubby is getting some this

summer from my brother. They are Wild Alaska Red Salmon. Last year the

price was $3.50 a pound. Not sure what it will be this year yet but

shouldn't be more. If anyone wants any email me off list. They won't be

available until August sometime.

Wild Alaskan salmon is indeed supposed to be mercury-free.
