Guest guest
Hey , sad to see someone trying to do good to someone who doesn't realize it! Of course you feel sorry for someone with problems, but everyone needs to *want* to fight disease on his own! She obviously doesn't want that, so it's no use. This sounds hard, I know, but it's true. And she makes *you* feel bad about it, too. So you are feeling twice as bad about it as her, feeling sorry for her and now concerned about what you are doing for her is right. Lend her a good book (a brochure came with my VCO, that's just a few pages ) on nutrition (NT or whatever you have) and let her educate herself and just wait. You can't force her or she will blame YOU! CU Anja > Hello everyone, > I posted a while ago about a friend of mine who was continually menstruating for a number of years. Since then, she has refused to follow dietary advice that i suggested and provided research for, even though she agrees with the concepts and believes she is VitA deficient. She is now on the pill and is in a great deal of pain every day , so she's on a bunch of painkillers too.Her period isn't even regular now, her cycle is about two weeks on two weeks off. > She finally agreed to take CLO if I bought it for her. So i did, and she took a spoonfull this morning. Well all day (at classes), she was complaining that she was burping up fish taste all day long. she also told me her stomach hurt right after taking it. Does anyone know what this means? Sometimes i taste a little fishy for an hour or three at most, but not all day, and no stomach ache. Could she be not absorbing fats? Her diet is pretty horrible otherwise so she could be dealing with any number of issues. Thanks for any ideas. > peace > anna
Guest guest
ya know what? i gotta agree 100% with anja here - it was a hard lesson for me to learn too. save your concern and your efforts for patients or people who ask you for help. not everyone wants to be helped, ya know? really, the Matrix is the best example i've found for it. some people? just don't want to know. -katja At 05:58 AM 4/9/2004, you wrote: >Hey , >sad to see someone trying to do good to someone who doesn't realize >it! Guest guest
Hi , After taking a high quality lemon-flavoured fish oil for a couple of years, I decided to try CLO this past winter. I couldn't find the lemon-flavoured one where I live (like Carlson brand) so settled for some unflavoured... whoosh!! Ever since starting the fish oil/clo, I did notice that some days it would repeat on me for hours and other days I had no problem. It may be a matter of how well fats are being digested and could relate, at least in my case, to the gallbladder. My naturopath suggested a digestive enzyme containg ox bile... this has helped me. I've read that some people digest the fish oil/clo better when taken on an empty stomach (??), whereas others do better taking it with a meal. Experiment I guess all the best, Eleanor ==<annas88@e...> wrote: > She finally agreed to take CLO if I bought it for her. So i did, and she took a spoonfull this morning. Guest guest
Hi , When I first tried CLO, I burped quite a bit too. Someone had suggested that the oil was rancid, but then I noticed that I would burp when I ate salmon so I have my doubts on that one. I've been taking Carlson's lemon flavored one before going to bed and that's worked out quite well for me. But I couldn't tell you if it's because I'm taking it at night, or if it's Carlson's. Menstrual difficulties and stomach problems are typical gluten intolerance symptoms. If she's really motivated she could try a meat/vegie/fruit diet for a couple of weeks, which will probably make her feel better (it probably won't cure her menst. problems quickly though). Not digesting fats and low enzyme levels are typical symptoms too. Gluten intolerance messes up hormone levels rather horribly, and often causes endometriosis and some other symptoms. But once the damage has occurred, I don't know of a quick fix, though some people on the celiac list have said they do heal and the pain stops after a few months. Also ... low calcium/magnesium levels have a lot to do with it. About half the PMS sufferers got better after a month or two taking cal/mag and vitamin B (I think it was). Taking HCL and/or enzymes should help her digestion. But a good naturopath might be able to do a real diagnosis without so much experimentation. I tend to agree with everyone else though, that some people really won't be helped. I've had pretty good luck giving people copies of NT or Dangerous Grains though (and my nagging on this list seems to have affected a couple of people). I figure I'll just say what I think, take it or leave it ... eventually people might hear it. -- Helga the Glutenator
