Guest guest
My husband has no gallbladder and i'm trying to get him to take lipase supplements. Does he take them before or after he eats? Does he have to take them with every meal? Elaine
Guest guest
Depended on a lot of things in our case. My dh also has no gallbladder but has no digestion problem. We took (each of us a different product) a chiropractic product that contains enzymes and herbs. When we first started, the chiropractor had us taking it between meals. He said it acted as an antibotic to help cure inflammation taking that way. My dh is still taking his that way. I am now taking mine at the end of the meal and mine act as enzymes. What I have learned from the " applied kinesiology chiropractor " is that he finds the cause of the problem and doesn't just treat the symptom. Your dh may have something else causing the problem. If you are just going to experiment then I would say to follow the directions on the emzymes you buy. Just our experience. Maybe there is something here to help for you. Guest guest
As I understand it, the function of the gallbladder is to store bile till it's needed ie when fat is eaten. if there is no g/b the bile is released continously, not when it;s needed. So if your hubby has digestive problems, it *could* be bile salts he needs to supplements with, not lipase. There are combinations that have a full range of enzymes, plus bile salts. If it were me, I;d take one with each meal and see if it made a difference. If it helps, then take one with every meal. deb --- In , " Elaine " <itchyink@s...> wrote: > My husband has no gallbladder and i'm trying to get him to take lipase > supplements.
