Guest guest
-The Carlson cod liver oil is the best - plus the lemon flavored one taste's good. This product is recommended by Dr. Mercola - who has had it tested (several times) and says it contains no comtaminants. Other highly reputable docs only recommend this cod liver oil. Read Dr. Mercola's comments about cod liver oil at his site www.mercola.com -- In , " aris_tano " <aris_tano@y...> wrote: > > Hello everyone, my first post after lurking for a while. Guest guest
In a discussion on the WAPF chapter leaders board yesterday, Sally said (re CLO in pregnancy) " YOu need at least 10,000 IU vitamin A and 20,000 IU is better when you are pregnant. So do the math. You get 10000Iu with 1 tsp of high vitamin and 2 tsp of regular. We no longer recommend carlson's because it is too low dose--they are actually taking the vitamin A out!! Sally " and somone else said " from what I understand about Carlson's (somewhere all this hype started about it being the best - with everyone else parroting...) is that it is not " genuine " meaning that it is from a combination of fish - not just cod, with added A and D. Guest guest
She didn't specifically say, but I dug out the latest shopping guide. It still has Carlson on it - maybe it's fine if you're not pregnant????? - but also Premier Norwegian and Dale . One of the chapter leaders mentioned Green Pstures High vitamin. deb We no longer recommend carlson's > >because it is too low dose--they are actually taking the vitamin A > >out!! E as a preservative, IIRC. Ron Schmid will also be carrying this oil soon! YOu can also get it on the web by searching for " Quantum " CLO. Also, I think Radiant Life or the importer has had it tested and it IS free of contaminants apparently. Suze Fisher Lapdog Design, Inc. " From what you say about Carlssons, I wonder if that could be the US brand name for what I take (MorEPA). The dose is 580mg EPA, in a chewable lemon flavoured caplet, and it is fish oil, not cod liver oil. However, it is the purest and highest dose fish oil available in the UK, so it's really my only choice. I'm not trying to get pregnant, and I try to eat liver once or twice a month for the vit A Jo
Guest guest
Yeah, it's all academic to me too. I can't get any of those brands in NZ. Only Melrose, which is a Norwegian/Dutch brand, or Healtheries a local brand that's sold in supermarkets, so i;m wary of. So like you, I take what I can get. deb >> > From what you say about Carlssons, I wonder if that could be the US > brand name for what I take (MorEPA). Guest guest
Thank you to all who replied, I appreciate your input What I have read about this particular COL (Premier Norweigian) is that is a fine oil, good enough in fact to receive the USP grade label. Also, to hear that Sally recommends it makes me feel better, I'm sure she has vetted the source. Thanks again.
