Last night was a disaster at NH better today

Last night was a diaster at the NH. Mom was very scared so I stayed the

night. That Mrs B nurse that seemed agatatied that we asked to see

medication list was much worse. I left the hospital for a couple of hours

went home and ate and came back to spend the night. Mom was ok at first but

confused. She then became very confused, thought she was standing instead of

laying down, thought she was on the ground at the mall and I and my 12 yr

old daughter just stood there. She kept calling for me to do something. She

couln't see why I just sat there. She yelled out call an ambulance, she was

crying and accusing and feeling upside down etc from 9pm until 230 am. A cna

came in and tried to console her but then left. Mom kept yelling and I kept

trying to calm her. I was so tired so very tired. Well finally at 1am I went

to the charge nurse and said Mom is very confused and frightned can you give

her someting for sleep. She looked so irritated for me bothering her. She

said well, the doctor will be in in the morning. I said mom needs something

now, her nuroligist priscribed Trasadone she only took it twice can she have

some it may or may not work. She said its not in her file, I said well,

don't you have her Kaiser file?? She very irritated told me she will fax the

doc in charge. 30 minutes later she came to the room and handed me a

sleeping pill that kind of sounded like risperdal but not that. Finally at

2:30 mom fell asleep, I couldn't sleep by then because I was watching mom

and crying and making sure she didnt have any side effects. She awoke

finally with some prodding at about 830am. She slept 6 hours the most in a

very long time. She was still confused but about 2 hours later finally got

much much better. I met the doc today and he assured me he will not change

any of the neurolplegic drugs just keep her on Risperadol. He says he will

give mom her sleeping pill between 830 and 9pm nightly. I will go there at 9

and hopefully she will fall asleep within an hour. Then I won't see her

until the evenings during the week because of my daycare. I will try to

spend more time on the weekends and will quit my Sunday job for awhile.

Anyway I told the doctor about the Mrs B nurse and he said that isnt right.

I told him how It hurt to see mom intrusted with such a bitch her first

night there. A cna I spoke with this morning, very nice knows about mrs b

and reported her to the main man at the home I didn't ask her to she just

felt she had to. I hope it doesnt fall back on mom.

I also met a few other nice people too today. PT's etc. Mom sat in a

wheelchair first time out of bed and we took her outside for two hours, even

let her eat lunch out there. My brother spent his lunch hour with us and my

dad too. I left at 130 and told dad to call me when he gets home. I hope all

goes well, dad gets mixed up at times so I hope no problems come up. Well,

thats it for now, it's 3pm I am going to bed for a couple of hours then try

to catch up on cleaning for a bit then go to NH for an hour. Thanks to all

who expressed concern. The chaplin I talked to the other day was at the

Hospital not the NH but the memory lingers, he was very supportive too.

Thanks all hope everyone else is ok I haven't read many of the posts except

about mom. Shirley
