Guest guest
I have never tried VCO from Garden of Life, but I have tried several different kinds and the only one I like the taste of is VCO India from Wilderness Family Naturals (or www.coconutoil-online.com or Creme de Coco; all same manufacturer with different distributers). The taste of their VCO is fresh, without any rancid smell to it which I detect with other kinds of VCO's I've tried. The VCO I like must be the VCO of my choice probably because it is not heated or fermented. It uses centrifugal method that spins off all the moisture (from what I read) and it really has a fresh coconut smell to the oil. Also someone mentioned expeller pressed VCO from Tropical Traditions. Just about all the expeller pressed are heated and most often deodorized and bleached (some with chemicals). I bet that's still better than using vegetable oil from supermarkets (I do use the expeller pressed for dishes I do not want any strong coconut flavor), but I just wanted to say non virgin oil is not as powerful as VCO in healing properties, etc. I like VCO in soups and stews. (Even the lousy soups/stews from the company cafeteria becomes tasty with VCO.) I also like to use it in place of butter on toasts. Ami > >> OK is it just the VCO I bought or is it me?
