Many of the NArcotic meds that mst of us take do become less effective if used over a long period of time, we then ask our MD's for more or to increase the dose, so that we can maintain adequate pain control, to make our lives tolerable. We are not necesairly " Addicted " we have just developed a tolerance, and need to eith increase the medication, or switch off to another class of meds until our body reaches a tolerance for that med, then we can return to our previous medication. I know this sounds very simplistic, but oftern times we all over look the simple solution in attempts to understand we complicate things, and then we get frustrated and that leads to anxiety, and stress, all of which work against us.
