I think I noticed more energy when on it. I think it is an " adaptogen " but I am not sure. I tested well for it with both muscle testing and EDS. Haven't taken it for a while due to cost. Thanks Olga, I would be taking it for menopause or a natural HRT therapy. I read that it (Maca) has been used successfully by native people of Peru for hormonal imbalances, menstrual irregularities, fertility, and menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes, vaginal dryness, loss of energy, libido and depression.” I can't use soy products because it gives me eczema and heartburn. From what I have read it may not be good for anyone. The research has shown that Maca contains no plant hormones, unlike soy and black cohosh. Its relies on plant sterols, which act as chemical triggers to help the body itself produce a higher level of hormones appropriate to the age and gender of the person taking it. Clinical case studies that is may help PMS, as well as menopausal symptoms, and may help symptoms of hypothyroidism as well. I started taking it yesterday. Less than the normal dose so I can see how my body reacts. Sheryl Sheryl Illustrations http://dovedesignsrus.com

Sage and vitex aka chastetree worked for me when I needed the help. Two main ingredients in Traditional Medicinal's Female Sage tea. Black cohosh gave me anxiety and blood sugar problems. It's estrogen and progesterone. Vitex is only progesterone. Noticed recently sage is being promoted as a strong antioxidant. Wanita

Wanita, When my Mom was going through menopause she tried Black Cohosh and it all make her anxious. I have only been taking MACA yesterday and today. I must tell you it really helps with the brain fog. At first I was only going to take a small amount. . ..but I found the brain fog came back and as soon as I took the MACA root with in 30 minutes it is much better. Can't wait to see how it does in a longer time period. Yeah Sheryl Sheryl Illustrations http://dovedesignsrus.com
