Esp. if you happen to be allergic to milk too. But a more relevant issue is that it is very difficult to GET all starch/sugar out of your diet unless you are an Inuit. You pretty much have to avoid fruits and vegies too, and even then, bacteria are pretty hardy. Plus foods that may not have starch in them when you EAT them may create sugars as they get digested. And, if a person is basically ALLERGIC to a bacteria, then small numbers of them will cause a reaction ... so it would be better to practice biological warfare on them than to try to starve them out. It is practically impossible to " starve " bacteria out ... and they adapt, so on a low-starch diet they may adapt to eating something else. Now, if you happened to know something like, a certain bacteria in kefir likes to attack Kleb, THAT would be an effective solution.
