Well, some docs won't recommend the GF diet because it

is " so hard " to do without wheat ... doing without ALL starches

is far more complex. Esp. if you happen to be allergic to milk

too.

But a more relevant issue is that it is very difficult to GET

all starch/sugar out of your diet unless you are an Inuit.

You pretty much have to avoid fruits and vegies too, and

even then, bacteria are pretty hardy. Plus

foods that may not have starch in them when you EAT them

may create sugars as they get digested.

And, if a person is basically

ALLERGIC to a bacteria, then small numbers of them will

cause a reaction ... so it would be better to practice biological

warfare on them than to try to starve them out. It is practically

impossible to " starve " bacteria out ... and they adapt, so on

a low-starch diet they may adapt to eating something else.

Now, if you happened to know something like, a certain bacteria

in kefir likes to attack Kleb, THAT would be an effective

solution. Or even, a bacteriophage that is Kleb-specific!
