Do you know what caused your problem? This is very interesting to me. I have read that a fat metabolism problem is rare. So it is hard to find someone to discuss this with. How long have you been dealing with it? Del, Oh my goodness did you ask a loaded question. I used to have a fat digestion problem. Before I started eating VCO and butter. Here is what I think caused my problem. For I would say over 10 years I ate very little fat. Big mistake. Also about 12 years ago after an operation, I had intravenous antibiotics. I didn't relate it all to killing off every good bit of bacteria in my gut until just recently. Both of these two things really played havoc on my body. I have had horrible constipation and indigestion and didn't really know what to do for all those years. I had heard that low fat was good. WRONG!! Low fat is bad, at least for my body. My body loves fat. The fats I use are VCO, Butter and Olive oil. I had been taking normal doses of good pro-biotics over the years, but recently started taking larger doses and had some really good results. Then I joined this group and heard about Primal Defense. I take only 3 a day right now. What a difference. I must say that I have had some very big healing crisis'. But I think it is the PD along with the VCO. I was reading on this group about how much fat everyone was eating. I thought Hmmm. . .my Mom (76) has always said you need good volumes of fat in order for your body to work properly. Well I bought the VCO and immediately started seeing results. Might be due to it helping my Candida. I am sure after my intravenous antibiotics I was full of Candida. I added butter. I LOVE BUTTER AND HAVE MISSED IT TREMENDOUSLY!!!! My heartburn which I have had every day, almost all day and all night long, for 5 years has been cut to almost no episodes. I can actually sleep at night without a burning in my throat. I also cut out my nightly Ice Cream. I have replaced all sugary snacks with Fuji apples, carrots, snow peas etc. I mostly eat veggies and meat. Only sourdough bread when I eat it. I have taken all soy out of my diet no matter what form. I check all labels. Soy is a biggy for me. Causes me terrible trouble. Indigestion and my hands get eczema and itch. So I am doing much much better. It has been almost a miracle for me. In fact I would consider it a miracle. I am so very glad I found this group! Sheryl Sheryl Illustrations http://dovedesignsrus.com
Guest guest
Sheryl, I have been waiting for your reply. I am very happy for you. It seems like the NT protocol is working for you. It is funny how we can have the same problem but need different treatments. We are so much alike but yet so different. I will be going to hear Jordan Rubin talk on The Maker's Diet. I heard him about a year ago talk on his other books and he promised to come back when his new book came out and he was true to his word! Can't wait to hear. I have heard that the PD has gluten. I will ask him for sure. I have wanted to try it. Del > > So Sheryl, what are you doing about your fat metabolism problem, > besides eating VCO? Is this a diagnosed problem?
