So, it won't slow our disease down even if it does have liver healing properties. In addition, I have alse seen studies that find it has MANY dangerous interactions with other meds AND it can even interfere with treatment. I think until it is treated more like a drug here we need to be careful. It may have benefits, but the risks at this point are uncertain. Don't mean to speak for you, Jerry...tell me if I am wrong about your intent! From what I read, for autoimmune hepatitis, milk thistle may be helpful, it may be useless, and IT MAY BE HARMFUL. It is touted as boosting the immune system. This is not what we need to have happen. Each of us, working with doctors, must make our own decisions on what course of action to take. Remember that this is a very high-risk situation, and making the wrong choice could well be fatal. harper

Katja THe issue of keeping garlic CLOVES in oil for other than a short amount of time is well known as a possible source of botlism. The problem here is that botulism doesnot change the flavor/smell of an oil, so you cannot tell if botulinum toxins are present or not. Do a google search and read the research. mjh http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/
