Guest guest
Tammy, the itching is basically caused by excessive bilirubin in our blood, bilirubin that our malfunctioning livers aren't clearing properly. I think that would happen regardless of whether the liver problem was NASH (fatty liver, pretty much) or AIH. As many people have mentioned, Atarax, available by prescription, is a good remedy for the liver itches. There are others; what works for one person may not for another. From what I've been reading lately, obesity isn't necessarily the cause of NASH, although weight loss does seem to be the best remedy for it. You will be able to learn quite a bit about it if you read web sites with current material. I know only what pops up about NASH when I'm searching for other things. Keep good records of your talks with doctors and your lab tests. Take someone with you whenever you can to help remember what was said and to remind you to ask questions. Good luck, and remember to have fun every day. harper

I've never liked beef or pork liver, but really enjoy sauted chicken livers and a wellcrafted foie gras (duck liver pate). mjh http://foxhillfarm.us/FireBasil/
